Women of the Wild 2:7 Sam Beland - Preview
Sam is absolutely amazing, she’s always one of the First Ladies to sign up for a majority of our trips! Here’s a little about her.
Hey all! I’m Sam - born, raised, and still residing in the beautiful state of Michigan. I’ve been an avid lover of the outdoors since a young age, spending much of my youth playing in the woods - climbing in trees, foraging the land and curiously watching the animals and how they interact with their environment. While I was considered more of a tomboy (embarrassing ultimate 90s pic included 
), I wouldn’t say that I was, “raised like the son my father never had.” In fact, he was quite empowering while I was growing up telling me there’s no reason why girls can’t enjoy the same things boys like, too. So between sports and burying my head in books, I spent a lot of time fishing Michigan’s beautiful countryside, hiking miles into the deep woods and setting up camp next to streams to catch our food for the next however many days. While the outdoors has been a huge part of my life, hunting didn’t come until later in life. Which is fine because I have the rest of my life to enjoy the heck out of it, especially with a great community of people such as WOTW.
